The people of Sto. Domingo is rich in historical, cultural traditions. From marriage to death, celebrations, commemorations are made. Before marriage the groom’s family have to go to the bride’s family for “danon” (to ask for the hand of the bride) or parents consent.
In death, bereaved family have to conduct 9- day prayer before interment, forty days after death another prayer and celebration be made and after a year another commemoration for the “waksi” or end of the wearing of black dress. At work, the bayanihan spirit still exists in some barangays for the repair of houses or other structures. This is called “tagnawa”. During the planting season “amoyo”.
